My hard drive has too many miles on it, and I think it's RPM isn't adequate for proper operation.
It wouldn't spin up, I froze it, then it spun, and now produces the "2 second click of death" and wouldn't give up any data.
I'd like to try adding a 1.5 volt battery in series with the 12vdc supply (dreaming the motor drive circuitry could use the extra power).
Might this (temporarily) work, so I can transfer off my data ?

Spindle speed = 5400 RPM
